Where should I place pedals in my effects chain?

While there are no strict rules and some of this is a matter of preference, generally speaking:

Place overdrives first in signal chain (after your tuner)

Place compressors should be placed after overdrive and before any modulated effects

Place flangers and other modulated effects at the end of the signal chain
